ABOUT ME

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I earned my Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan, where I gained valuable therapeutic training and an understanding of the impact of systems and communities on our individual experiences. I gained my postgraduate clinical hours working in community mental health in San Francisco and private practice therapy.

As an Indian-American woman, I am all too familiar with “living in the hyphen” - I’ve always felt a little “too Indian” to be American and a little “too American” to be Indian. I have learned to embrace these multitudes as strengths, while acknowledging that the world around us has not always been constructed for us.

In my free time, you’ll usually find me taking my dog for a long, hilly walk in the city, trying (and sometimes failing at) a new recipe, or lost in my latest read.

how i work

I believe that we are all beautifully different, and that therapy isn’t “one size fits all.” My goal is to create a therapy space that feels unique to you through exploration, respect, reflection, and laughter. I'm an intersectional therapist who believes in culturally affirming care, which allows me to both focus on your internal feelings and experience, as well as how the world around you has shaped and influenced your experience and identity. I also have training and experience with different therapy modalities, including acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy.
